Evening Tasting the Southern Collective Experience

October 25 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Charles Clifford Brooks III, Echo Montgomery Garrett & T. M. Brown tag-team to share in discussion and readings the unique appeal of Southern creative voices through poetry & prose.

T.M. Brown

Mike, as his friends and family know him, has always had a passion for the history behind old homes and towns, especially in the South. His town of Shiloh is an eclectic recreation of the small town he would love to live and walk about in his retirement.

Echo Montgomery Garrett

Echo has written 14 books and articles appearing in more than 100 media outlets. Visit http://EchoMontgomeryGarrett.com to read Echo’s latest…
Clifford Brooks was born in Athens, Georgia. His first poetry collection, The Draw of Broken Eyes & Whirling Metaphysics, nominated for a Georgia Author of the Year Award in Poetry, will be re-issued by Kudzu Leaf Press in 2018. His second full-length poetry volume, Athena Departs: Gospel of a Man Apart, as well as a limited-edition poetry chapbook, Exiles of Eden, were published in Kudzu Leaf Press in 2017. Brooks is the founder of The Southern Collective Experience, a cooperative of writers, musicians, and visual artists, which publishes the journal the Blue Mountain Review and hosts the radio show Dante’s Old South. He currently lives in northwest Georgia and is pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at Reinhardt University.
There is no manifesto. There are no quotes to add credence to the Collective’s existence. The Southern Collective Experience is built by, and thrives, through brothers & sisters, fused in all the arts, who feel the vibe below the Mason-Dixon Line even if their home isn’t hugged in Dixie.
